For the most part I have been happy with this vehicle. My comfort factor however has dropped recently. At 120,000km the rear right axle disengaged from the differential. The wheel with the axle attached departed the vehicle allowing that corner of the truck to hit the ground. Fortunatley, I was only moving about 5km per hour at the time, otherwise a serious accident would have likely occured. The axle came close to hitting a pedestrian. GM Canada takes no interest in the problem whatsoever. Their customer service people say this is likely due to "normal wear & tear" and that their legal dept. feels they are safe from action. No sales person, mechanic or other person at the GM dealership or at any other garage I have spoken with has heard of such a problem happening. This seems to be a very rare case.
So, will I buy another GM product? Not likely. So much for customer loyalty!
My Blazer from day one has had elecrical problems.
Other than that, I've had no problems! I have an '87, black and silver S-10, with 55k miles.
I'm gonna store my investment for 6 years, when it's an antique, maybe, maybe! I'll let it go for a price!
