"Wonderful car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Clutch Shaft Assembly required

replacement at 20000 miles.

Left Read Window winder required

replacement at 30000 miles.

Air Conditioning Expansion Valve

required replacement at 35000 miles.

General comments?

This is the favorite long-distance

travel car for my wife and myself

and we have taken seventeen trips

of over 2000 miles with this car.

There has been only one major breakdown (of the clutch shaft assembly) on the

tenth trip. The car is very comfortable, has a wonderful ride and

handling, plenty of luggage space for

two and plenty of passing power at

highway speeds. The custom stereo system we installed is excellent and top-down cruising is a wonderful

experience. We take the Mondial for

our 18th trip to our favorite site

(the Big Sur Highway) in October.

Repair parts and maintenance (eg,

cam belt change) are very expensive, like all Ferraris.

Worthwhile upgrades: larger Momo shift

knob, aluminum heel pads on leather

door entry jams, custom Ebony wood panels replacing plastic console panels,

elaborate 6 speaker biamplified stereo.

Elegant accessories: Schedoni luggage

Custom ebony panels? That sounds a lot nicer than the rather bleak expanses of black plastic! Can you post where these panels were made and if possible the cost?

Sounds like you got a mid week car and not a dreaded Monday or Friday car.
