"A Wonderful Piece of Junkyard Material"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Several things have gone wrong with this car. It's hard to find parts for the car in the first place. The Spark plug wires are fried at 40k you can't find anyone that carries them. Power Windows aren't suppose to break at 50k Jesus... I had 200k on my buick century and the power windows still worked!!! This car is a piece of crap and if you buy one beware of the hidden costs Your better off spending a few more bucks on a more reliable car.

General comments?

This car is an OK Car. I wouldn't recommend anyone buying one b/c of the problems that come with it.

-Brakes 30,000miles

-Broken Strut know anyone that carries one

-Spark Plug wires are crap

-P/Window Failure

-Fog Light out, No one carries the light blub.

Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the last four years knows that Daewoo filed for bankruptcy and the North American dealer organization has largely disappeared.

You just bought the car this year. It's your own fault for not bothering to research before you made the purchase. You have no one to blame, but yourself for the difficulty in finding parts.

Please do not fault that person for buying the car. I don't know if you noticed it, but depending on the side of the country that you reside on, but Daewoo may have made it known that they have gone out of business, but it was not largely commented on. You see he/she was out to buy a car, what looked to be a reliable car. He/She was fooled like others. I don't care if they bought the car today. They still have the right to buy from any dealer or person and expect a decent outcome from the car and it's ability.

I owned a Daewoo Nubira for 3 years, from 100.000 to 170.000 Km. it was a 1.6 Sx station-wagon with Lpg fueling built-in from the factory. it has been a good deal;the engine quality is just under honda, all the minor problems are common to fiat or citroen and other popular models. it depends all on the garage and mechanic you usually join in. the best ones are the ones educated to other Gm models, especially Opel Astra and Vectra. some spares are even compatible. about the nubira spares not genuine are available, but again, the dealer has to manage with popular Gm sPares parts. most problems not engine are trick-soluted by a good mech. think about fiat brava whose radiator is not capable enough for intense use and you risk to break the engine|

Well, I'm a Daewoo Nubira 1.6/Auto 2001 owner too. I have no problems with spare parts, but no one knows what part have to be replaced in my car, hahaha, OBD says everything is OK, just the car is eating 25miles per gallon on highway only, it need about 25 seconds to reach 60miles per hour and cannot climb a moderate hill unless I'm swifting to second gear (it's supposed to be automatic, lol). The noise from the engine, A/C switches, sway bar, all kind of rattle noises behind the dashboard, timing belt broken after 15k miles all of those (and others) I've encountered in 40k miles. On the other hand, there are a lot of people very pleased about their Nubira's, seems to me that is a kind of a lottery buying one. And yes, indeed, Hyundai and Kia are more reliable altbeit not so fancy inside out (less gadgetry).Of course that a 4 to 5 years old japanese car even with 100k miles on the clock is better than this piece of junk, at least you're not repairing the same thing over and over.

I wrote this daewoo article and The dealer told me the car was still covered under warrt. I asked him several times. Then I came back to confront him about the problems and it was like Go to our other office to get it fixed I'm like what the hell. anyways Don't buy from Mcdonald's in Saginaw Michigan. My first almost new car. I Sold the Daewoo for what I owed on it to get rid of it. I now have an Eclipse that I'm very pleased with. (the backseat is for insurance purposes on the eclipse)
