1986 Peugeot 505 GTi Family Estate from UK and Ireland - Comments

"A fast, comfortable, reliable motorway cruiser with sporty handling"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Clutch master cylinder leak.

Some loose/worn wiring and connectors.

Water pump leak.

Air con needs recharging.

General comments?

Goes like the clappers for such a big and heavy car. Handles very well.

Very comfortable for high speed long distance driving.

Bit thirsty on the fuel (22mpg at 100mph).

You can always sleep in the back if it breaks down!

Very good condition for it's age. Looks like a bus. Seven of your mates can come with you in it to the beach...

OK, so I have now had this car for over a year and it has fallen apart (driven very hard for lots of miles). Gearbox whines, thrust bearing too, head gasket leaking water into one cylinder, brakes spongy, alternator intermittent... so I've bought another (1989 GTI Family) because they are just great cars. The old one still goes OK and the body is perfect despite all that. Anyone want it spares/repair-
