"still love it"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Ignition/starter fuse keeps blowing out.

Brakes squeak loud.

Low oil censor light stayed on all the time.

General comments?

I love this car and get a lot of comments on it. It handles very well like a sports car. Has a great CD sound system. It is very comfortable.

I read a lot of reviews about the Sebring before I bought this car. Many on all the electrical problems, but I went ahead and bought it anyway. The low oil censor light was taken care of by the dealership at no cost to me. The squeaky breaks I can deal with. However this fuse thing is driving me crazy. The first time there was no power to the ignition I had it towed to the garage. They replaced a fuse and sent me on my way. It ran for 2 days and did the same thing again. I have replaced the fuse 5 times and every time I go to start the car it blows the fuse. I do not want to pay another tow and garage bill for a fuse. Any suggestions? It is still sitting 6days now while I try and figure this out and I am not a mechanic. They want $170 just to locate the problem.

Did you figure it out? Just two days ago, my Sebring Convertible wouldn't start. Changed the fuse and off I went. It did it again today. Any solution suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

PS My sensor light stayed on also. Had to replace sensor. Also, seat doesn't move back and forth. Looked and all the coating has been removed where it has rubbed as it was used.

Been just recently having a lot of problems with my 1998 Chrysler Sebring. The mileage is @ 102,000 and the timing belt, water pump just needed to be replaced. The catalytic convertor now has a whole in it, eventually I will need to have work done on it. But now the car just had to be towed, would not start. The shop is telling me the cause is that the distributor needs to be replaced. That is the "whole thing" not just the cap. Will be very costly I'm sure, and with reading about the concerns of ongoing problems with there cars stalling/not starting, I am very concerned too if this is going to resolve my problem. Other than that, the car has never given me any problems, it's just that I'm afraid they're all going to come at once now!!

I have not yet found the answer to the fuse problem. The dealer said my starter was fine, so my (new to me, I've had it 7 months) car is sitting in the garage (1 month now) and no answers. I have tried all the sugjestions I have read on here and still the fuse blows. I am at a loss.

Have the starter checked. The solenoid has gone bad and it vibrates against metal which causes the fuse to short out. Replace the starter and the problems solved.

Good Luck!!!

Well I took the advice and had the starter replaced and have not had a problem since. Thank you everyone.

Enjoying my Sebring again. :)

I had the same problem with my Sebring 4 years ago - fuse #8 kept blowing. Had the starter replaced and it was fine. Now, it's doing the same thing AGAIN!!! Could it be the starter again? It was replaced with a brand new Chrysler part from the dealership. Could it be that the starters only last 4 years? Soooo frustrating. Any comments or advice greatly appreciated.

Thx
