Drivers window winder extremely stiff.
Interior noisy.
Glove Box would not close.
Front tyres wear too fast.
Engine noise too high in car.
No electric windows, no electric mirrors, no central locking.
I bought this car on the strength of the badge and its looks, a gorgeous blue with silver 17" alloys and leather interior.
Oh how wrong can you be, it's a plain old rover with a body kit, no real power to speak of and theres so many on the road its hard to find your car when you park.
I was so unimpressed with this car I changed it after only 2 months and lost 1500 in the process, but I did not want to keep it, I have now bought a Subaru Impreza and oh what a difference for near on the same price.
Its because you bought the MG ZR 105, if you bought the 160 you would have noticed a lot of power.
He didn't make any complaints about the engine performance!!?
The ZR has an unusual market of Mothers and chav's. Mainly chavs.
The moral of the story is: don't buy a car on the strength of it's badge and looks alone! Test drive it and actually imagine what it would be like to own it, what impression you'd give off, etc. And you can't compare getting the Subaru 'for the same price' as it's obviously a lot older and like comparing chalk and cheese.

I own a MG ZR 105+. I love my car I think it's great! You cannot slate the Mg on the mere basis of it being slower than a Subaru Imprezza. The MG is 105bhp and the subaru is 250bhp ++ so what did you expect???
You can't call it for it's road noise and engine noise either, You were buying a true MG sports car so what did you expect.
The Subaru is obviously older than the MG so you can't call it for that either. Mg boasts a quality car for an exellent price. From what I can gather about Subaru's the engine won't last the life of the car. Where-as the Mg is bulletproof.
You can't say it is a Rover with a bodykit either. I owned a Rover 25 with the same engine and it was no where near as fast. The handling is second to none and is nothing like a rover. infact I was stunned how different it was.
You can't call it common because either, You went for the most common colour so this is no surprise. Mine is red and I think I have only seen 3 other red ones in the past 2 months of owning the car.
Before buying a car you should research it propperly and not rush into things. You shouldn't go on public opinion. You should formulate your own. Each car suits a different person for different reasons. If a car does not suit you, DON'T BUY IT!
I doubt he went from a Rover er... sorry I mean MG ZR to a scooby STi with 220+ BHP. He probably has one of the low power impreza's (130BHP) but it'll still be a hell of a lot quicker than the MG.
A mate of mine used to own a 1.8 mg zr, 120BHP I believe. Well I beat him in my 106 1.4 XSi, in a strait line it was very close, got to a corner and it was bye bye Mr MG, and that's a 1.4. The damn ZR's must weigh over a tonne easily!
Don't get me wrong, they look nice and I suppose if you only want to go to work and back its fine, but a racing/sports car its not!
Anyone who enjoys driving and is into cars who is looking for a rewarding drive should steer well clear.
