"Do not buy this model year for any reason"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Upon purchasing my 95 Blazer from a dealer, I replaced the brakes within two months and the EGR valve. I had constant engine trouble with misfiring plugs and vacuum problems, revving and hard starting. I replaced everything as it came up on the computer at the dealer for over a year until I was sick of it and found a local shop where the labor and parts were cheaper. Still no one could make the check engine light stay off. All went well for a while until one morning on the way to work when the oil gauge flipped over to empty and a world of pain opened up an swallowed me. Before I could diagnose the problem and react, all the oil from the engine had drained and the truck came to a grinding halt. It looked as if the engine had blown up the oil was sprayed everywhere under the hood. It cost me $5,000 and two weeks without my truck to have a new engine installed. Shortly thereafter the fuel pump went and shortly after that the feul lines and spider needed replacing. This truck has cost me more in the past year than it blue books for, but I got tied in to a loan and I could either fix it or take the hit. It was pretty even on either of the losing ends so I'm lumping it! I've easily sunk $7,500 in to this truck since buying it three years ago and I would never buy another Blazer. I just recently replaced the ball joints, two power mirrors, the master window switch and am currently pricing rear wiper motors because that went too. I'm just marking the calendar until this nightmare ends.

The problem with G.M. 4.3 engines losing all the oil is an epidemic. It happened to my sons truck and to mine. If you have a Blazer or S-10 with the oil filter adapter system it is only a matter of time before you develop a leak that could ruin your engine. I have contacted an attorney about bringing a class action suit against G.M. because of the failure of so many of these oil filter adapter lines and fittings. The attorney said we need to prove this is not happening to only high mileage vehicles (over 75,000 miles) Anyone who has experienced this problem with a vehicle with less than 75,000 miles should contact me. I purchased my 1995 S-10 Blazer about two years ago from a family friend. When I purchased it, it had approx. 199,000 miles and had given the previous owner no troubles at all. However, possibly due to luck, everything goes wrong when this truck becomes mine!! I was able to get another 40,000 miles before serious problems occurred. I have replaced the EGR valve, the alternator, two fuel pumps, all both fuel injectors twice, the blower for the air conditioning, and have had two tune ups, and had oxygen censors replaced! All of these repairs have cost me around $3,500 plus! the only Up- side is that the engine has never used oil as it shouldn't have. I wish I would not have made this mistake. I owe a little too much on loans right now!!!
