What things haven't gone wrong with it?
This car is the biggest lump of crap I have had the pleasure to drive...
The engine blew up 5 kilometers from the Daewoo dealer (no joke). They placed a new engine in it which took 46 weeks to arrive (yes 46).
Power steering pump broke.
The front and rear suspension collapsed when I drove over a speed hump when driving my boss to work... the car could not make it over any more bumps or lumps, and in the end the body just fell flat against the road...
The car doesn't travel in a straight line, and after telling the dealer about it numerous times, it still hasn't been fixed.
Cup holders broke.
CD player buttons stay stuck if you push them, and the radio itself cannot find a station to play.
Crap korean made tyres wore out to bare rubber after driving on them for 15,000km's.
The interior light globe blows after around opening and closing the doors 50-60 times... this I am told is due to the battery sending the lights too much power (where'd the dealers pull that from?)
The air conditioner needed to be replaced after it conked out on a summer afternoon.
The paint just fades and peels off, even though you park it in the shade.
So far 3 out of the 4 door handles have fallen off.
The tail light bulbs blow all the time and are expensive to fix.
Brake pads had to be replaced at 5,000km's because they warped.
Radio/cd player was stolen!!! (what a joke... its crap house). It was only then given back to police with a note with my number plate no. and a sentence saying... 'it isn't good enough to flog off'
Power windows jam even though the dealer has sprayed numerous amounts of easy slide on the glass.
The exhaust pipe fell off the car and dragged along the road for two hours before I realised... I thought it was the noise from the drivers seat.
Central locking door system is stuffed.
The interior fabric lining on the roof has lifted off the cardboard it was stuck onto.
The list goes on and on and on..
p.s. I forgot to mention that the light fuse blew on the car... the fuse that blew was the one that powered the interior dash board lights... so I was driving in the dark for 1 1/2 hours.
It was a limited edition model and had a very nice leather steering wheel on it.. pity what it is connected to.
Lacks refinement handling and quality.
Colour of fabric in the car is disgusting.
I am scared that a big gust of wind will put a dint into the side of the car... it will only add to the many that are results of leaning on the cheap tin can metal the car is made out of.
I don't want to take it up a mountain because I fear that the brakes won't hold under the pressure when coming back down.
Headrests are too short.
Plastic hub-caps crack and fall apart... expensive to replace... replaced them four times on the fifth time I went to k-mart and got some for $4.99 each and they have lasted 6-times longer than the Korean junk.
The list just goes on with problems.
It seemed like a bargain... what a joke!!!
The Daewoo dealer service is shocking, they are rood and as dumb as wombats.
I will not buy a piece of junk like this ever again!!!
I am going to buy a brand new Suzuki Liana GS which is ten times better and has awesome reliability. I warn you... do not by a Daewoo Nubia in any case, do not buy any Daewoo at all.
I had the opportunity to buy a new Daewoo an was very pleased when I first purchased it however I have had several problems with it, an my biggest problem was that after buying this car I could no longer take it to the place of where I purchased it from due to them no longer being there an I now must drive at least 40 miles to get service done on it, as to the problems I am very unsatified with Daewoo because although I have very low mileage I have more problems with brakes an have had work done to it yet the same problem exist resulting in a parked car because who knows if an when my brakes will actually "not" work when I need them to work. the battery has had to be replaced which was not cheap, i had to pay 500.00 for a problem in the steering which could have caused a terrible accident, the drivers seat has sqeeked since I drove off the lot, the brake dust has "eaten" the rims to the point where I will have to buy new ones an cannot afford an it makes a noise in the back end. Now I am a responsible person who keeps up a car very well, but I feel this is ridiculious to have all of these problems an cannot afford the expense of what it takes to correct these problems. My car looks very nice sitting an considering the low miles it only says that I obviously don't drive it much or I can't.It would have been nice to have been able to enjoy such a beautiful car that I bought brand new.
I'm also one of the furious owners of this crap (Daewoo Nubira).I really know some people very pleased (lucky fellows) by Nubira, unfortunately, I have to agree with the worst you are reading in those reviews, and even I have no problems with spare parts, that doesn't make life easier for me.. Daewoo mechanics have no idea of what are they doing. My car have an gas appetite of 15 miles per gallon and is an 1.6liter!!!.And gues what? They told me than according to ECU, everything seems to be OK, hahaha. Those are funny guys.
I am an owner of a 1999 Daewoo Nubira and I am EXTREMELY pleased with my purchase. I haven't had any problems with the car and all I really do is have regular oil changes/tune ups. Maybe I have just been really fortunate, but I do enjoy my vehicle and I don't regret buying it one bit.
Have 2000 Nubira Wagon. Has about 30,000 miles. Only real problem was electric window needed to be replaced. However, it now seems to be stuck in "park." Somehow we are going to have to get it out of the garage. Can't seem to find anyone that knows why this occurred. Will divest myself of what can only be described as..., as soon as I can get it repaired.
I have a daewoo nubira which I bought second hand a year ago. so far I have not had one seconds trouble with it and am extremely happy with my purchase. i realize that it is not one of the great cars in the world, but it has proven to be reliable and gets me from a to b with a minimum of fuss.
I am the owner of a 2001 Daewoo Nubia, I have not had any problem with this car I gues I am one of the Lucky ones. I keep up with my oil change and everything is going great.
I have owned a 2000 Nubira for 6 months. It's worked great, the only problem is the handling (it doesn't go straight), and there are some noises from the front and back. But overall, this is a good car for public road, it is not a sport car. Also, it's good only when its owner knows how to drive. Today, good news is that you will able to purchase Daewoo parts online.
Daewoo Nubira 2 liter. just remember one thing :CHANGE THE TIMING BELT EVERY 60,000 OR YOU WILL SUFFER AN ENGINE/HEAD REBUILD.
If you decide to replace the exhaust manifold with header pipes make sure that there is a heat deflector plate (or use the original one) to stop the exhaust heat from seizing up the nearest radiator fan (there are two fans).
If your brake light/lights stay on after switch off it is possibly not the brake pedal switch, but your brakes that are so worn that the cylinder is maybe damaged.
If your rear windows mysteriously go down use the child lock because you dog has its paws on the button.
I have read the comments on the nubira and are pleased to say that I have had no problems.
It is a nasty horrible tank of a car that refuses to drive in a straight line.
I purchased a 1999 Nubria. It worked for about 15,000 miles then died. It spent 12 months at the dealership and went through numerous parts. I was told it was the gas tank causing the fuel pump to clog. Then when it was fixed (for the momment) the battery was dead. Now with only 27,000 miles it has died again. Seems to be the same problem. Also backup lights will not work the driver window does not work, ABS light stays on and check engine light. This is not only a lemon car, but company. PS when I found out the roadside assistance did not cover any more was when I needed it the most. Daewoo should buy back all these lemons and never come back!!!
Well, Daewoo is now Chevy so you can complain to GM.
Daewoo is a very very strange company in that they obviously turned out some lemons yet my Aveo has had very minor problems since I bought it over a year ago.
I am the owner of a 1999 Daewoo Nubira, I purchased the car in 2000 with about 16,000 miles on it. I have had to take the car to the dealer several times after purchasing it because it was making a weird sound like it was a suspension problem. I took it to the dealer about 3 times with the same noise problem and they told me it was a normal sound. I thought that was just an excuse to pacify me so I just got tired of those trips to the dealer and just gave up. My car would smoke on several occasions and once again I took it to the dealer and it took about 3 months for the part to come in so I rode around in a car that smoked until my part came in.
I am the owner of a 2001 Daewoo Nubira. I hate it. On appearance I fell in love with the car. Pretty color. I'm a woman, can't you tell? First and biggest gripe is that Daewoo went bankrupt a few months after I purchased the car brand new. Needless to say it was worth nothing and is worth even less now. Can't trade it in until its almost paid off. Not happy at all about that. Now to the rest of the problems. Shortly after buying, needed the battery replaced, needed a new fuel line replaced. Like another gentleman said, had to replace the tires, worn to the threads. Veers to the left, creaks in the front and back. Power windows no longer work. Theres been so much I can't really think of it all. I'll tell you this much. People PLEASE BEWARE...don't EVER buy a Daewoo. They totally suck.
I'm another lucky (yeah right) owner of a 2000 cdx Daewoo Nubira. Althought I've had to perform many different repairs (timing belt snapped. replaced head gasket, engine mounts replaced at least 3 times in 5 yrs. Lower control arms 3 times already and the list goes on) to my car I'm lucky to say it's still running and haven't had any other problems with it so far. (Can't expect anything else considering that my car currently has 158k miles!). Now, i'd like to ask about one certain problem that's bothering right now. My windows seems to get locked all the time. It happened once and someone fix it. I bought an used main window switch and it just broke 3 months ago. Today I received a new main window switch from the dealer, but my windows still don't work. Also, when you try to roll (down or up) the windows, the central locking system will go crazy locking and unlocking my doors. Does anybody knows what can I do to fix this window problem? If you do please email me at death_angel15@hotmail.com
Thanks.
