Bearings worn out in transfer case - cheap fix.

5th gear syncro worn, fan speed control resistors failed.

In my opinion a Lancer Evolution has the best price per performance of any car on the road. Standard car 13.1 1/4 mile for the equiv of US$10,000. Cheap to run, 10 litres/100k on the open road. Reliable, has never been undriveable. Usual Mitsubishi cam belt replacement should be followed without question. Better than any WRX.

What's the insurance on this car? My 1600cc GTI 16v is group 14.

Hi, I have just bought a 1994 evolution 2. The fifth gear synchro is worn, any cheap fix suggestions? I have been told Castrol VMX gear box oil is a good start and may help a lot.

Where the hell did you get those quarter mile figures.14.1 on a good day. I also noted that you said better than any WRX remember 4G9e engined GSRs (1.8 turbo) are to compete with WRX's. If you still think mitsi can beat subaru go try your luck with an STI

I own a 1989 Galant vr4, they were before the evos and are very strong cars. I have dragged many Subarus including sti's and I was always in front. Subaru's are great handlers and gravel, as are evos, but on tarmac, especially in a straight line, an evo wil win any day.

its done 270,000.

Dunno when it last got serviced,

the only things changed on it are the exhaust manifold

and just taking it in for carbon clean and cam belt.

Nothing else rotton, medium condition!

Hey I drive 1991 vr4 rs pickd up for 4500 needed abit of work, but shes mint now old guy had stored away in garage for few years, use 2 own 1992 evo 1 rs, but that got stolen from Vnz testing station jst thought id let mitsi fans out there know 2 look after your pride and joy! Rs mitsi`s 4 life.
