A beautiful looking car with an exterior that has been crafted like a well tailored Italian suit.
The interior is lush and sporty, and surprisingly roomy in the back considering it's a coupe.
The 1.9 JTD diesel multi-jet engine has a remarkably exciting sound and any diesel clatter is inaudible once it's warmed up.
The diesel engine is 150bhp compared to the 165bhp JTS petrol version, but feels faster and more responsive due to a huge amount of low rev torque. The fuel economy is really good too.
The visibility is poor out the back so the rear parking sensor option is probably a good idea.
The sat/nav option is expensive for a CD based system, so an aftermarket system is probably going to be better.
I'd like your opinion about alga romeo gt. I'm thinking to buy it I know that it is a beautiful car but is it good in the technical parts and electricians;i'd like to know because in my country Greece it's cost 30.000euro.
I totally stunned by the beautiful Alfa GT. It's the most beautiful car for that price. I definitely want one, preferably the diesel, as it makes more sense. However, I'm worried about the usual Alfa romeo niggles, such as build quality and after-sales. Kindly stress on that, as those 2 things matter a lot for a car of that price. Thank you.
Truly, one of the most beautiful cars in the world... that £21000 can fetch you. Yes it may have reliability issues, and the resale value maybe a problem, but that should be only if you're a motorist, not a car lover. The diesel literally stunned me, it was that good. Others may belittle you for loving it, but what do they know? When you buy it, those very same people people will envy you. Trust me, I've had such an experience. It's one of the greatest places to be in. Avoid the 18 inch alloys... too much road noise.

Hello!I'm 24 and I'm from Portugal!I've just bought an Alfa GT... here the diesel costs 38000 euros and I wasn't sure what to buy between the GT or the A3 sportback s-line...I've chosen the Alfa...I've never been happier!!!
This is for the Greek guy that is thinking of buying one too... Do it...if you don't, every time you'll see one in the streets you will regret it!!!
It's great in every way... Except for engine of course... the diesel its regular, as it is the 2.0...but all rest its great!!!
The Alfa GT is a real stunner! I previously had the 147 which was nice, however I had to replace the engine at 43000 miles which was not cheap! And had major probs with the Selespeed gear box. I wouldn't change my GT for the world! its economical with a 1.9 diesel engine and at the same time carries the looks that no other car comes close to comparison. If your thinking of buying one, do it! It would probably be the best thing you you spend £25k on.
I own an Alfa GT since May 2004. It is the most beautiful car in its category. Engine performance and consumption are fine. Superb handling and all safety extras (6 AB, ABS, ESP, ASP, etc) in standard spec. The GT is not only exotic, but also very practical with four real seats and roomy interior. Very good quality and a massive improvement over old alfa cars.
The Alfa guys know how to make dream cars affordable. You need at least double its price to buy a different car with the same character, stunning looks, and refined riding.

It's too early to say if reliability is an issue, but anyone who has driven the Alfa GT will tell you it certainly feels well built compared to Alfas of old.
The main thing worry I had before buying was the depreciation, but this has proved to be unfounded as Alfa are so annoyingly slow producing new GTs that very few are actually on the road. This is keeping prices up for sure, but also bear in mind that the Alfa GT is relatively cheap anyway considering what you are getting. Particularly if you compare with Mercedes/BMW/Audi etc. All this for a car that not only drives well, but is a design classic!
Had my GT now for 2 weeks and it's pure heaven. I'm confident about reliability since my 156 ran for 5 years with not a single incident.
Just received my Alfa GT. Went for the 1.9 JTD model and was originally tempted by the 2.0 JTS. I am now perfectly happy with the choice. Compared with the 147 and 156 JTD (which I both had) this is much more silent. The car feels a lot more powerful too. It handles very well and the suspension set-up is spot-on; it absorbs bumps well while maintaining a sporty ride. I like the 6 gears, torque is plenty and the cabin doesn't get noisy, even at highway speed (I have the 16" wheels). Interior of the distinctive version is perfect. Similar styling from the 147, but the leather seats are fantastic, doors are trimmed, plastics of better quality and the overall feel is of quality (and personality - the 2 don't always co-exist in many cars). I like the sat-nav system. I know that a portable system is cheaper, but... that would be an extra bulk to carry all the time. It drove me through the whole of France without a glitch. Finally: I love this car. It's great to drive, nice engine, great handling and is the better looking coupe out there. Driving is not about going from A to B, otherwise we'll all have a Lada Niva. It's about going from A to B, via C and D, and loving every second of it...

Hello. I'm 26 and I'm writing from Portugal.
I've owned my GT 1.9 M-Jet since 02-2005 and I'm very disappointed with it. I love it, but I'm having many problems that the Alfa dealer can't solve.
I have problems with the brakes (front disc brakes have been changed for two times because the car gets unbalanced).
Frontal direction lights have been changed two times because they get white.
Air meter has been changed two times because the car wouldn't run faster and it was making 12 l/100Km.
The EGR valve as been changed once because the car was making much smoke.
The windows remote unit has been changed once because the car closes the window while the door is closed.
The air conditioning command unit as been changed once because the display was always dimming.
The torpedo plastics that protect rain from entering to the car have also have been changed twice.
The worst thing that's happening is that the car is always changing its performance. Sometimes it runs faster and reaches 220Km/h, and other it is a big problem to get 'till 190Km/h. I'm thinking of selling it.
This will be my next car, but I'm waiting for another 2 years until I can get one for a decent price (for my wallet) and considering I'm only 21 at the moment. I currently drive a Punto HGT with the Multijet JTD engine, so I have every faith in this engine. Only of course it has more power in the GT!
