Lambda valve (controls fuel) has had to be replaced twice.
Sunroof leaks in heavy rain.
Interior light switch does not work.
Immobiliser keypad has a mind of its own, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
The finished product isn't perfect i.e. runs in paintwork, a few little rattles.
Peugeot dealers in my experience are terrible, the only reason I used them was to keep the warranty valid, as soon as the warranty ran out I used smaller garages.
A brilliant car which I don't regret buying as it looks good and the drive is excellent. However if you are after a sports hatch it needs a few more bhp and better brakes - go for the Gti if you really want a 306.
I own a 306 XSi and I have not experienced any of the problems you have listed.
Many thanks steve
Touch wood, Its been quite reliable. Interesting comment about that lambda valve thingy, I have an orange light that comes on periodically.
I would agree with it needing more power, the brakes / chassis and handling are too good for the amount of power on tap.
I have had a 306 for 18 months now and it has been very reliable and economical, but an electrical problem with the lights is really bugging me!
Side lights come on OK,main beam does not come on at all, but full beam shines on one side only... both bulbs have been replaced and exactly the same happens! HELP?

Had an XSI 8v and it would out run almost anything on the bends. needed a bit more go mid range, would go up a slight hill and stick at certain revs, but 8v much more versatile than any 16v.
