1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS from North America - Comments

The motor on the driver side power window went out.

The neck of the gas tank had leaks so we had to replace it. There was a recall for this type of thing, but they said it didn't include our vin #.

Hi, I currently own a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS. Due to Hurricane Ivan I've had to put a claim into my insurance company because the shingles that hit the car messed up the paint. The insurance company wants to total my car because they say it costs more to paint it than it is worth.

In order to adjust my claim they have asked me to find prove that my car is selling for more than the NADA value.

If you have sold or purchased a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS in last few months please e-mail me and let me know, How much you sold it for/or paid for it? How many miles it has? Where you sold or purchased it?

Any information would help me to get my claim adjusted. I really hate to see my car go to a junk yard. It's ridiculous that they want to total it. It only has 68,000 miles on it. We bought it brand new and have kept it like a baby.

You pay so much money for insurance and when you need them, they aren't there for you.

As far as justifying what you think your Camaro is worth, though, just go on cars. com or autotrader. com to see what other '92 Camaro RS with same miles and equipment are selling for. There are probably hundreds for sale out there. That information would certainly carry more weight with your insurance co. than some anonymous email from somebody telling you what they sold theirs for.

You may well find that they are selling for LESS than NADA book value though. Even dealers don't generally expect to get NADA book value unless the vehicle is in exceptionally good condition and/or very low mileage, or unless the vehicle is in high demand, like a 2004 Toyota Prius, for example.

If you love the car so much, just pay for the new paint job yourself.

My name is Matt And I deal in F-Body Camaro Restoration in Illinois I do on the average about 100 Camaro a year from start to finish I just bought a Camaro Iroc Form New Orleans with a a messed up paint job for 500.00 dollars it also had a little bit of water damage they area a Dime a dozen you can find them around every corner. SORRY.

Dime a dozen? So does Matt sell them cheaply after putting them through his extensive restoration process, which takes on average less than a week, considering he says he does 100 a year?

I have a 1992 Camaro Convertible, and this car kicks, but it only has 66,000 original miles.

I have had the car for 6 years. I bought it with 32,000 miles. It works like if it was new.

The only problem it has, is the starter - sometimes I have to give a couple of clicks in order to turn it on. Other than that, the car is a charm and I will not sell it or trade it. I get a lot of good offers for the car because I have it in really good shape. I keep on telling everyone "Do you see a for sale sign on the car?"

If some one has had the same problem with the starter, please let me know if you can fix it, and what was wrong with it. I give this car a 100, and I will always be a Camaro fan when the new ones comes out.
