"Dodge intrepids are roomy, smooth riding, and comfy, but if they are money pits"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

In 2002 I started having problems with the motor overheating. That turned out to be a cracked thermostat houseing. then the power stearing pump started leaking, which caused the stearing pump to loose the pump pully and the pump shaft. When I fixed that stuff on the car nothing really happened untill the 9th month of 2004.

The car started jumping in and out of third gear while going down the high way at 75mph. Then the car suddenly didn't want to crank, but it sounded like the starter was bad. So I bought anouther starter. That didn't work. I got told by an old man that if I pulled the crank sensor out and ran a magnet in fron of it then put it back in the car. I would get about 100 mor miles out of the car. He was right.

That day lead to a new crank, cam, throttle positioning, O2 up and down stream, air and fuel mixture, m.a.s, sensor, and a new air filter (ROUGHLY $300 IN SENSORS). But after I got the $300 in parts on the car the tranny started acting up agian. So I looked in the chilton to see what the codes were for the tranny. I just said the down shifting and upshifting errors might be the output and in put sensor.

So I replaced them. But the same thing happend so I pulled them out and put the other ones back in." if the old ones are good I am going to use them first. Fustrated already, I waited a week to work on the car agian. I tried looking for a tranny on the net. When I came across the info. on the wiring harness for the tranny car loose connection to the input and output sensors, thus putting a binde on the transmition controll module. And now I have bought the wireing harness and put that on. The transmition control module is a bit harder to find at a fair price. But not onlly the I cann't seam to locate the transmistion controll modual The chilton said a lot of facts about it, but never gave is were abouts. And a couple half $%#$ drawing, but nothing concrete.

I no the tranny isn't gone, siply when the car is cold I can get the car in all 4 gears one time. but after that if you go over 1200 rpm's the car acts like it is in neutral, no go, but a lot of rpm's...

P.S. I work on all gas powered engines for a hobby. And there isn't a lot of the new auto technology that can stump me, but this

coputerized tranny is kikking my $#%@.

HELP!!!

Sounds like my situation... looking for some ideals about the overheating problem.
