2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS from North America - Comments

Rear struts (I believe) needed replacing within first year due to faulty manufacturing; luckily it was still covered by warranty.

Alternator required replacing.

Driver side visor's plastic construction snapped off with minimal use which now prevents "flap" from remaining closed to keep visor light off. Luckily, a store bought CD holder strapped on keeps the flap shut now.

Passenger & Driver seat adjust level needed replacement withing 3 months of each other as they both just snapped off when being used to recline the seat back (don't ask why).

Fuel level sensor stopped working which will cost $121 to repair unless I choose to replace the whole fuel pump for $472.

Motor mounts were "collapsed" but can be repaired/replaced for $261.

Coolant line is leaking.

CD player no longer plays. Sometimes, one track will, but "Err" message appears mid track. Owner's manual says this is temporary effect usually when humidity in weather is high, but should clear after an hour. So far, it's been a week.

I love the space my Blazer provides but I'd much prefer to have the dependability I hear many other driver get from their Japanese make cars.

Although, on the comfortability issue, the back seats could be more comfortable.

As far as your CD player goes, pull out the fuse and put it back in. Mine does the same and this seems to work for a while.

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer and at approximately 5 years, many thing started going bad with my vehicle.

I have had to have the lower right ball joint replaced, the lower right idler arm replaced, the heater core stopped working and it has been replaced, the whole engine cleaned and rebuilt due to a crack in the seal, which leaked antifreeze in, my oil pump went bad and it has been replaced, and the alternator had to be replaced.

The passenger side lever to lay the seat back broke off and I found a generic replacement part at my local auto store for about $20.00.

If I used the hazard lights, my brake lights would not work anymore, which I found out was a recall item and had it fixed.

The lights on my steering wheel for the audio system have gone out, and half the lights are out on the audio and temperature system panel.

The cover to the lighted visor broke off.

The fuel sensor stopped working; I was told I had to replace the whole fuel tank which was around $600-$700. I was told the 2000 Blazers could not have just the sensor changed itself, due to the new styling of the fuel tank.

My CD player has given me the "err" message too and pulling the fuse out and putting it back in has not fixed it. The battery has been replaced twice.

I know I am forgetting something else, but that about covers it, otherwise the Blazer has suited its purpose, taking me from point A to point B. This was my first American vehicle and if I can afford it, it will most likely be the last.
