The first problem with my truck is that when I go to start the truck on a cold day, about 45-50 degrees outside. I live in Houston so it doesn't get that cold. The truck's RPM's will raise to about 900 down to 300. It only does this at idle, and it stops once the truck warms up. But before it warms up its hard to control the truck at a light because it keeps pushing forward when the RPM's raise. I would like to know if anybody has had any similar problems and/or knows how to fix this.
The second problem I am having is my gas mileage has dropped from about 13-14MPG in the city to about 11.5. Just recently I took a road trip and drove 65-70 mph and only got 13.5 mpg. The truck has about 93000 miles and is a Z71 with a 5.3L, with 4:10 gears.
The truck has been very good and these are the only problems I have had with the truck besides the regular throttle sticking and clunking of the steering wheel.
I had the same problem with the idle and "pushing forward" at the light. It's a vacuum leak. $100 to fix.
