I Needed to replace the fuel-pump, it died out completely. The parts for it were rather expensive. I payed, around 700 dollars to get it fixed. The check engine light just randomly turned on for no reason, still haven't been able to figure out why. It still has the factory muffler, it rattles really badly. I was told it wasn't burning oil, but somehow it is. The hatch in the back, leaks down when I open it, after a rain storm, ruining the speakers. Gas mileage is crappy, despite, I use the Octane Booster and Fuel-Injector Clean, every time I fill up, and I just the highest octane gas available.
I love my eclipse, I love it to death. It's cute looking, but I would never buy a used one ever again. I spend way to much money for it. This was my first car, I ever owned. I now wish I bought a bike.
Steve, I agree with you for the most part. I had a 94 GS and when I opened the hatch water would drain right into my new subwoofer, nice huh. What you said about the fuel mileage got my attention. Boosting the octane will not raise fuel mileage. Always use the OEM spec for best performance. Boosting octane will not yeild more performance either. Octane is stricty based on cylinder pressure. Unless you have raised the boost level or the compression ratio, higher octane fuel is a waste of money.
