"This car is no ford, it is a mazda and as such very expensive to repair"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

On the first day I brought the car, the Airconditioner compressor motor siezed.

Then the automatic transmission developed a shudder and needed to be repaired.

Then the engine siezed, due to a lubrication fault which blocked the main journals in the bottom end. I had been using mobile one and apparenlty the engine damage was caused by sludge.

Repair costs were around $5000-00Aud.

The drivers door window motor stripped the cogs.

The rear parcel shelf became deformed and wouldn't stay up.

General comments?

The car is a pretty nice car to drive.

The floor is badly insulated and you do road noise.

It has funny sized tyres that are hard to find and I'm not allowed to alter the tyre sizes.

Overall a nice car, but very expensive to fix.

I have loved my 1992 Telstar 4WS Nautical Navy in colour since the day of purchase in September '92. It's getting on now having done approximately 25 000 km per year. The struts in the rear boot door failed after about 5 years however since re-gasing has been fine. Maneuvering the vehicle is sensational with the 4WSteering and makes a girl look like a pretty impressive driver with the ability to get in and out of those tight parking spaces! Sadly the metallic paint has been damaged for about 6 years pitting in different areas. I have had many major problems and spent a lot of money on fixing. I understand that yes it is a MAZDA. After 3 accidents (all by the other party) it's a wonder my poor car still stands however it is. A new brass radiator/air conditioning needs attention having already spent some $600 on it/major oil leak requiring the motor to be removed to get to the problem... and so on and so forth. It will literally fall apart now I'm guessing... but I've loved my car... it's time though to win the lottery!
