What things have gone wrong with the car?

Intake gasket went out at 80,000 miles. these gaskets are made of plastic with a rubber o ring type seal, the plastic cracks over time from the heating and cooling of the engine and the seal just blows out. what this also caused is radiator fluid pouring into the engine which will over heat engine and could break the camshaft or oil pump shaft if driven over a period of time and engine overheats. I know of no other gasket, but the exact replacement one is available. Front wheel bearing also started making noise and had to be replaced at 70,000 this is just a bad engineering fault the bearing is under to much stress cause the weight of the vehicle is not over the center of the bearing it is out further. my 1 and 2 blower switch don't work either didn't fix yet. other than that car has been good so far.

General comments?

Well we bought it and we intend to keep it. cause it seems everybody is having problems with all of their american cars I'd just be going from one problem to another.

Which leads us to the obvious question, why not buy an import? It seems foolish to putt around in a broken down jalopy simply on the principle that it's from an American company. Most foreign car manufacturers have North American plants, if it's the economy that you're concerned about.
