"The worst car I ever had and biggest money pit for nothing"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Everything and anything with this car went.

In the first year of having the blazer I put more into repairs then payments on it.

I have had the ERG value fixed or cleaned endlessly.

A new ERG Value runs about $175.00 to $200.00.

An Oxygen Senor only replaced that 3 times.

A pulse board - for turn signal and wind shield wipers.

Replaced ball joints endlessly.

Replaced CV boot. too many times to count.

Replaced leaking oil lines upper and lower.

Replaced heater /A/C switch.

Replaced blower motor.

Replaced rear window motor.

The rear window defogger came off got 6 kits to fix it and still will not stay.

Replaced head gasket.

Now it has trouble starting and turning over.

Something is now going on with the fuel system and the blazer eats the gas.

The Service Engine Soon light comes on all the time. I now think it is part of the car. It comes on for any reason.

Now it shakes and shimmeis, had it at 5 different garages and they cannot find it and they do not know what to say about it.

This is not all of it.

With all the repairs and upkeep I have started a binder to keep it straight.

General comments?

You have to be a rich person to own a Chevy due to the repairs you have to put into one.

I have paid more in repairs then payments.

This has been the biggest mistake and headache of a vehicle in my life.

I have always made sure tune-ups, oil changes and everything was done as required and nothing changed the way this turned out.

After reading others with 95 blazers it is the same thing in all of them no matter what you did they were done from the start.

I will never ever buy any Chevy, if they can't fix a problem why bring out new ones that seem to carry a lot of the same issues.

Go by Chevy NEVER again - it is not worth the headaches or the stress of trying to figure out what is wrong with it or what will be next to go out to much money, for this thing.

I am the one who wrote this. After writing it I realized that the was more that I needed to add to this.

I forget the 2 batteries and the starter the alternator.

Now the four wheel drive is not working.

The wind shield wiper container lines leak at the seal. Power steering fluid leaks. There is not to much that I have not replace or had repaired endlessly on this thing.

I feel like it is the unsafest vechicle out there and I am scare to even put my family in it anymore.

It is a money machine just to TRY to keep it up and running.

Do not get one you will be in debt for life with this thing. Trust me I have one and I know this to be true.

Reading this review made me remember what it was like to own my old Blazer. I'd forgotten how much trouble that car really was. It seems like every repair mentioned in the review was one I had done on my blazer too.

When the fuel regulator begins leaking it sprays fuel into the inlet plenum and that side of the engine runs rich and can possibly seize up from either the fuel ruining the lubrication in those cylinders or a cylinder just locking up from being full of fuel. When mine went I noticed an increase in fuel consumption and the engine seemed to be working harder.

I replaced mine myself. The regulator is a part of the injector assembly and has tiny hoses which route to all 6 cylinders. You will need to replace the gasket in the inlet plenum when you open it up to get to the regulator.

I shopped around for a regulator/injector assembly and got various quotes differing by several hundred dollars. The cheapest quote was about $300 with $200 more for labor or just $500 for the unit itself. If you have the time there is a place that does rebuild them for under $100 but I found it on the net and don't recall who they were.

Grab a manual from the library and see if you're willing to try it. Just don't lose the pieces as you take it apart.

Ya, I bought mine from a local couple, they took great care of it. It had 87,000 original, not too bad. The fuel rail went out the first week, and it ran like crap until it warmed up. I thought it was gonna blow up. But... after getting it fixed ($700.00), it has been a great little rig, nothing has yet to go wrong. I haven't had it too long though. The most troubling thing is the color.. people love it or hate it (purple). Go Vikes!

I own a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4 door 4wd. I brought it about a year and a half ago.

The first thing that I want to say is that I love it. It has about 136,500 miles on it and it drives very well. The reason that I believe that all of you are having trouble with your blazers is because you don't take care of them. Of course it is going to cost money to own a car. You have to take care of your car from the engine to the interior and exterior. Also we are all talking about a 1995. A car that is 14 years old if it was made in 1994. That is VERY old. Parts are going to wear down. It happens to every car. So, stop complaining about an old car breaking down because it is going to happen to all cars.
