2004 Suzuki Cultus VXR from Pakistan - Comments

"At a hatchback's price, it gives you a saloon car's drive"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Side door locks were faulty at the time of delivery and still are if I use them frequently.

Mud flaps were not present, they were supplied by the company in previous models.

A little noise comes out from the center of dash board for about 10-15 minutes every morning I start the car, some electric sparking (maybe from the dynamo).

General comments?

For everyone's information: When adjusting the timing belt of this car, the company's recommendation for adjustment units is 8 for petrol and 18 for Compressed Natural Gas.

Leg room is very good spacious, even better than the new Toyota Corolla.

. Spare part prices are extremly and abnoxiously high. Unfortunatly, I had to replace the rear bumper, it costed me 17,000 rupees including labour and mettalic colour charges. As compared to this Honda Civic's rear bumper only costs around 4000 rupees.

If the company had made it with 1300cc engine then it would have been a better car in initial pickup and running. It looks that that the body of this car is heavier than the capacity of engine.

Door Locks are really a problem even of a zero meter brand new car. They don't work properly if we don't get it repair from a technician.

The company is not giving proper attention to the quality measurea as A/C was not working of my brand new car. I have to move workshop right after taking the delivery.

Steering of VX and VXR is heavier than it should have been.

I agree with earlier comments that engine is not designed for hilly area drive. It may be dangerous at sharp slope.

I purchased "CULTUS VXL" on August 20, 2006. I am facing problem with the AC piping. Condensed water is dropping on the floor mats of the car.

Car door locks obviously create problems and it panics me a lot.

I think company must solve this issue. But car is very much smooth and quite good for long drive.

I don't want to use that words which I had not experienced. I bought a Cultus (VXR) in July 2005 and I found this car to be very good. The only problem I found is the finishing in door rubbers, which was not fixed properly. I found A/C, running, everything good. I love Cultus. However, there is always room to improve.

Thanks, David.

I purchased a used cultus 2005 with 30,000 Km on speadometer, yet it was a well maintained like zero meter condition. My 1st impression is good for this car. A/c was very effactive, My AC mechanic informed me that I was lucky to have an AC made by N. D Company Japan installed in my car as Sandan AC installed cars are not very effactive in cooling. The A. C is much more effactive even in hot summer on air recserculation mode however it is not effactive in fresh air mode. The car is stable, spacious, good breaks (non ABS type) It is good even on CNG. I would recomend any one toto go for Cultus. Simultaniously I would also request the company to reduce the prices of Spares as I have heard that spares are costly.

I bought a Suzuki Alto 2004 in the January of 2004. Generally I loved this car from day one. It is a beautiful all rounded car with the steady body, better than the body of Cultus which is more expensive than the Alto.

From time to time, the cheap interior plastic has given me problems such as the door handles and lock heads breaking off... but other than that, the engine works fine on CNG as well as on Patrol. It has reasonable acceleration for a 1000 c.c. engine. Now it is almost two and a half years, I am using this car and after good maintenance, and time to time servicing it is still in tip top condition. This car will never lose my appreciation.

In my view, this car is for a small family of three members maximum... more people create a problem for pick up, shocks, space and AC. So for a small family or singles, I would recomend this car zero meter and use it for a few years without tension, not to mention it has great market value too.

I found cultus far from being satisfactory. light body and below average engine are major problems. No EFI system present. Carburetors are history now because they are inefficient and uneconomical. I wonder how anyone can have good opinion of this substandard car. Mansoor.

I purchased Cultus Car in July 2005. Since, I have practically experienced the drive of car spread over a span of one and half year, therefore, I am in a position to comment about this car. Following are my observation about this car:-

1. Its body is useless, there is no safety, it is just like a sheet of canister. One does not feel secure while sitting in the car.

2. Doors are useless, constantly there is noise once you open the door.

3. Electric Coil gets heated up on a long drive, which I have replaced with Alto. Now it is OK.

4. Price of this car is too much, but the quality of car is not compatible with price charged.

5. Petrol and CNG consumption is too much as compare to other 1000 CC cars.

6. Wind screen got cracked in 3rd month of purchased.

7. It is strongly recommended to stop manufacturing this car and introduce some other model like Vitz of Toyota Corolla or Fiat company 1000 CC car.

8. Over all, it was not a good experience to purchase this car.

I have Cultus 2002; this is perfect car for families and individuals. I never think about the installation of the CNG in it, as it gives good ratio of mileage.

This is safe and balanced car.

Cultus EFI vxr has a software problem in it. Suzuki workshops and their workers are not technically loaded to fix the problem. don't buy the cng model. If you like the car, take its simple model and add cng from Market.
