"It's a great slow nightmare"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

At 35000 Miles had cruise control installed, two weeks later, the cruise stopped working, got it fixed under warranty. two months after that the cruise went out again some part fixed under warranty. Then about 8 months ago the cruise stopped working, paid $450 for a part to be replaced again. The cruise isn't working right to this day.

General comments?

This car is great if you don't get cruise control installed on it.

Otherwise this is a great car, but the acceleration is very poor, there isn't enough zip to get where I want to go.

This is a great example why it's best not to monkey around with a car's electrical system. My boss just had remote start/locking/alarm installed on his 2001 Civic and now his ignition doesn't work sometimes. He installed a GPS and broke the trim bezel around the stereo trying to get the wires to fit. The lesson is, don't monkey with a car by adding stuff to it. I can see why you might be frustrated though. That reoccuring problem is pretty rediculous I'd say. I love and use cruise control, but it definitely wouldn't be worth that kind of hassle and cost to me, unless it was free of charge under warranty. Just think, had you not bothered to have the cruise installed, you wouldn't have had any trouble from the car in the past 30k miles.
