OK, here we go...
I'm on my
2nd Engine (Something snapped off)
3rd Transmission (Blew differential once and killed 2 gears on second transmission)
4th Water pump (screeeeech you know what I'm talking about)
6th Alternator (my belt is screeching and its driving me insane)
4th Battery (I thought these things recharged)
3rd Entire exhaust system (Ripped one off and the other 2 rusted and rotted off)
What else...
The manifold gasket is blown. I love the smell of gas mmmmm mmmm.
The car pulls pretty hard to the right when you let go of wheel (good alignment lol)
The tires wear down quick due too bad alignment.
The engine sounds like a Mack Truck.
Sometimes it starts, sometimes it does'nt.
Loses oil pretty quick about a quart every week.
The interior eletronics like heating and lighting the dash no longer work.
The speedometer, odometer, and tach no longer work.
Overheated about 15 times. (I'm not lieing)
The transmission is'nt so bad, but like I said its my 3rd one.
Driver side window does'nt move from the up position.
Passenger side window goes down about 3 inches and stops.
And the underbody rust of my car is so bad that I could'nt even have a chop shop rotate my tires.
Can't wait till I get my J30. Please god speed up time.
And if you don't believe me I can prove all of this to you, just ask.
My general comment is this. I am at risk driving this car. My life is in jeopardy when I step foot in the belly of the beast. Please MTV, Pimp My Ride. lol
Wish I lived on the west coast betcha I would get on that show.
How anyone would put two engines and three transmissions in a rusted-out car is hard to understand, especially within 125K miles.
Good luck with your J30 though, now is probably the best time to get one as the depreciation has leveled out by now since the latest ones available are now 8 years old.
You say the transmission is "garbage". I would argue that that is a more accurate description of this review.
The vehicle is 17 YEARS OLD! It has 200,000 miles on it!
What do you expect, it to perform and be as reliable as a new Accord???
Please, get a clue before you sit down and write a review like this.
By the way, God is spelled with a capital "G".
You say YOU are at risk whenever you drive this crapped-out car. Can you not spare a thought for the people you share the road with. If you are at risk then so are they. If a car is unsafe then you should take off the road. I venture to say that the vast majority of people who read your review are revolted by your childish lack of responsibility. We're not laughing with you...
Too bad your car has so many problems.. Our '89 2door Accord with the same 2.0 engine and 5spd tranny is at over 250,000 miles on the ORIGINAL motor and runs like brand new. The tranny has been replaced 1 time due too bad driving habits. Clutch a couple times (taught 2 student drivers on the first one), and alternator twice. That's IT. The motor just PURRS and has awesome torque for a 4-banger, it runs so good I'd almost have a hard time believing its the original engine if it hadn't been in my family so long. Maybe they did better with the 2-door models?
Just buy a real car and stop complaining!
I have a 1989 Accord with the 5 speed and I absolutely love my car. It has around 140k on her and she runs like a dream. Maybe with all of that rust you should consider taking the old girl off the road and let her rest in peace. Did you stop and think that maybe just maybe the car had been beaten up by weather and previous owners? As for the automatic, if you take care of it right it will be fine. I have a hard time believing you are having such a hard time with the accord even with high miles. You know if you maintain a car properly it will actually stay running... imagine that.
My advice is look at economics:
If it costs more to keep it running than its worth, send it down the road. Eat the loss, the heart ache of endless repair payments will be gone and learn from it. I had to do that and sold a car as it was dying and got something versus bitterly fixing a heap that I wish was gone.
Car worth $500
Repairs to keep on road: $600
Bye bye car!
Humility and facing reality is painful, but healing.
Good luck.

That's 200000 miles man... and it's 17 years of running... yeah, after about 120000 if you're car isn't maintained well, one good kick on your front bumper, and you need a new car. It sounds like you've just been changing out parts without actually re-tuning it. An engine swap is best at 180000 miles with this car, and you should restart miles there. This car needs to be tuned every 40000 miles at MOST. Keep this car from corrosion, and it'll run new every time you drive it. At about 240000 miles... this Honda is done. That's around 50 trips around the world dude -_-'
