1996 Nissan Almera GX from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Absolutely brilliant, but I'm not too sure about the looks of the new model.."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing's gone wrong, except the battery which I class as being a `consumable' after 80,000 miles.

At 102,000 miles the drivers seat is worn through the outer fabric on the side bolsters & the back, but, hey, replacement seat covers are £15 a pair ;o)

General comments?

At first I thought that this car was a little `uncomfortable' on a long journey when compared to the 106 that I previously owned, but over time this has proved not to be the case. After 12 months of ownership I changed the skinny 14" rims for some 15"+low profile tyres from a mate with a Pulsar GTiR (who was upgrading to 17"s) and the handling was transformed from being rather good to not even having to slow down for corners. Overall this was a very shrewd buy and one that I would definitely recommend, even in spite of the really cheesy `New Avangers' adds at its' release.

Fuel comsumption is in the league of, well, what exactly is a petrol station? It really is that good...

Well pleased with my buy, considering it was almost an `auction-el-cheapo' pass by :-)

I found this tread extremely strange.

I currently own a peugeot 106, and I'm possibly gonna buy the 1.4 gx nissan almera.

At least you have said some good words on the comparison.

Makes me want the car even more.

Cheers =)
