At 59,000 miles, the timing belt went out on the car. Luckily, that was covered by the warranty which would have expired on the timing belt at 60K. I have had both windows, drivers and passenger's replaced due to a malfunctioning window motor. Ball bearing went out at 60K, and yesterday, driving along, the car just stopped. Suspect the fuel pump. No, I wouldn't buy another KIA.
Opinion is very low on this car.
I own a 2001 kia optima. I bought it used in 2002 and have had and am still having so many problems with it. My timing belt also went, but warranty was over so that was around $500.00 out of my pocket. Next my catalytic converter (sp?) sensors went bad. I was told it was not necessary to fix and could be driven without fixing, but the cost $700.00. I have problems with my gas gage not going all the way to the full mark. Paint is all chipped off on every door handle (which seem or look like plastic to me). My newest and scariest problem is major transmission problems. Not sure how many hundreds of dollars that will be. As far as that wonderful check engine light... I think it will be on forever... The car is only 4 yrs old and I've owned it only 3 yrs... what a waste of $12000.00 + dollars.
Will someone please tell me how to get the trouble codes from my 2005 kia optima lx, the check engine light is on and I do not know how to get the codes, I have owned a jeep cherokee a dodge shadow all I do is turn the key 3 times and the code flashes not thsi one.
