Leaky radiator had to be replaced.
Engine knock.
Air conditioning leaks Freon.
Idles incredibly high at times (sometimes as high as 2000 rpm) which wears down the brakes.
2 back windows and power mechanism had to be replaced (300 bucks a piece retail!!!!)
Great overall car, and was probably a dream in its day. Car will probably only like 1-2 more years, American cars just aren't built well enough.
With only 98,000 miles, the a/c system repaired twice-still not working-leaks freon -fan quits working after 5 minutes,
electronic dash board looks like a Christmas tree, most of the time is complete black- main motor seals replaced twice- power steering pump replaced two times and the third is staring to make noise, tapestry from car ceiling falling- both power windows quit working -paint dull and clear coat all blister-i will never purchase again a Chrysler automobile.
The engine knock you mention is normal for the 2.5L 4cyl. Nothing out of the ordinary and NOT a problem. There is nothing to fix. It's just the way this motor is designed to operate. Kind of like how most diesel engines have a noticeable knocking noise. Just the nature of the engine. I've owned 3 Chryslers with this motor and they all had a light knock that I was told over and over again by mechanics is "normal" and "not a sign there is a problem with this engine", since knocking typically means major engine problems with the average car. Not the case with these though.
It's not that it's an American car; I had a Saturn that was well up to 246,000 miles with an original engine (no major work done) before I got in an accident that totaled my car, and the car was easily going to last another year or so.
