"Peugeot's finest hour"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Some dashboard lights behave erratically.

Headlamp washers have never worked.

Headlamp height adjustment is unpredictable.

Squeaky front brakes (quite common, I am told)

General comments?

I was first drawn to this car by its good looks. I was won over by the impressive levels of performance, comfort, space and equipment.

The 3.0V6 is very responsive to the throttle. You can cruise along in 5th gear at nearly any speed and the car pulls away easily when prompted. Gear-changes are smooth and the brakes are responsive.

There is a lot of space in this car. 4 fully grown adults can fit in easily and access to the rear is good via the electrically operated memory seats and wide opening doors. The boot would put many saloon rivals to shame and the rear seat back folds down too for even more space if required.

Once inside the car the seats are comfortable, mine has heated leather seats. There is a hint of wind noise and the occasional burble from the V6 when pushed above 3000rpm other than that, silence...

Electric pillar-less windows, electrically folding mirrors and a 6 speaker JBL 6xCD/Cassette/Radio are standard fit.

Prices are falling for these in the UK.

I get 25-30 mpg from mine so a 3 litre isn't too expensive to run and I think the whole package is excellent value for money.

Peugeot did an excellent job on this flagship model, I hope the reliability stays good...

The comment did not specify for how long the reviewer owned the car and very much sounds like being still on first impression.

Apologies if I didn't make it clear, but I did say in the review that distance when bought was 49,000 miles and current mileage is 58,000. I have owned the vehicle for 9 months and have enjoyed my ownership experience so far.

I appreciate that this is not a long-term review, but I feel I have got to know the car in 9 months and I think my experience of the car is more than a "first impression".

Before I purchased this vehicle I would have welcomed some of the information about practicality, equipment levels and comfort that I have made.

Your review was helpful, thank you. Useful to know that the rear seats fold. It's a toss up for me between one of these and a late prelude 2.2 v tech. Can't decide. I feel like the Honda may be more reliable...

I have had one only for two weeks and like it very much. I came to this site to see how others had found their car over a longer period of time.

I suggest the V6 Peugeot over the Honda, driving it makes you feel very spoiled and there's performance there when you need it.
