2004 Mazda 3 S from North America - Comments

"Awesome quality for the price!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The only thing I dont like about the car are the tires, they aren't good in the snow. I would prefer Firestones, but they are really expensive for the size.

When the sunroof is open there is alot of wind noise. Bought a visor and it's fine now.

Really wish there was a trunk release of the key fob but that's ok. (I think they made that standard with the 2005 model.)

General comments?

This is my first new car and I'm so glad I bought it! I love everything about this car.

Stereo is good but I would like more bass. Love the 6-cd changer though!

Handles great

Shifts and rides so smoothly.

Seats are comfortable.

Like the looks of the interior; I got the black/red and it looks hot!

Tons of options.

All-weather floor mats are a must!

It's a great looking car and turns a lot of heads!

The 5 speed manual model needs a 6th gear. It runs the engine RPM's too high at highway speeds. It would also help extends the engines life and get better gas mileage.

About the tires- yes they don't do well in snow. but they are not really designed for that. You might want to look into getting snow or studded tires, the car will handle much better in the snow then!

In the 2006 model year there is STILL not trunk release on the fob.

I have a late 2005 Mazda3 model, hatchback. Even though I have remote locking, no remote opening for the trunk. When test driving the sedan, it felt very strange to see that there is not any kind of handle to open the trunk and in our snowy and dirty winter, your hands will get dirty. As for mine (hatchback), it tends to collect lots of snow in the hand opening and it works as a gutter by collecting the running dirty waters from the rear window. In the winter, I have to "dig out" the snow first and then open the trunk! This car NEEDS that extra.

I decided to provide a picture as evidence for my above comment. This is the worst that can happen since it's almost impossible to remove the ice from there and open the trunk. The choices I was left with, were: a) go into a warm place and let it melt b) carefully remove it c) wait for the spring to come.
