Lets see the brakes need replacing at 92,000 miles.
The tie rods went at 94,000.
This is not a bad car, if you are into style and comfort and good buttom line on a good used large sedan, this is it.
The 4.9L V8 kicks out respectable amounts of hp and tourqe is always on hand. The motor has a nice rich tourqe cruve. Snap the gas, the 4T60E is delighted to downshift, but you to have to snap it hard. Tourqe kicks in then horsepower.
The ride quality is wonderful, it doesn't float you that bad, neither do you feel every bump. It has the feel of a large touring sedan. It handles well and power steering is really light. Which is wonderful for around town. The car does if pushed the FWD here will show with minor amounts of tourqe steer the tires doing to things. And yes the tires will squeak if you enter a coner at high speeds. That may be in part because of comfort tires on it curently.
The Cadillac has pleasent if not elagent styling. The chrome and leather feel as if you are in a true luxury car. The flare of the American luxury performance is here, and the Deville never forgets to remind you of that...
This is a great road trip car! Across the country trips are a joy! The cars big tourqy V8 is almost inspiring to drive and the sound of the car is yet another thing a true V8 rumble. Not annoying yet more like a choir of 200hp and 275lbft. of tourqe singing there hearts out.
This car is not for everyone anyone not willing to pay for 91 or higher octane and the image of Cadillac might not be happy! Watch out for high NOS part prices on these cars, and poor service form dealers. They charge high labor on GM's top cars and charge you top dollar for orginal NOS GM parts! Beware that's the only downside!
I own a 92 Deville with over 180K miles. I am so spoiled to it's handling, ride and comfort, that I am considering expensive repairs rather than purchasing an inferior car that is affordable.
The review really gives you an idea of how the car feels and drives. A lot of non-cadillac owners who know nothing about Devilles might read this review and learn a little more about the car and how it rides, feels, drives and performs to the point they might actually consider purchasing this particular vehicle.
Overall I liked the review.
I can't agree with judging the reviewer instead of the actual review.
