Distributor module replaced $800.
Calipers seized on the disc brakes.
Tires had wobble issues / flat spots, two had to be replaced.
Rack and pinion had to be replaced $2000.
Car had power and handled well.
Repair costs were large, even general maintenance was costly.
Difficult time getting dealer to fix problems, sometimes had to go back multiple times before they would.
Sold car upon extended warranty expiry.
Smart decision! Others should consider doing the same.
The car isn't reliable, those who love these MX-6s are either very rich and don't mind paying $800 (here and there for repairs and claim them to "wear and tear" items), or just driving these lemons on borrowed time.
Chances are, if your car hasn't failed yet or it hasn't cost much to repair it, it will happen, and when it does come back here and let us know what you really think of these cars.
In my opinion Mazda Mx6/2,5lv6 is really reliable car..
I know people who doesn't matter anything just drive and drive.. I HAVE OWNED MANY different mazdas and they all have really reliable Mx6 if you care of it it will last till judgment day!!
This car will last just fine if you don't drive it like you're racing everywhere you go. If you are having problems with something major breaking every month, you should probably get a new mechanic. Body work on 6ers is relatively cheap if you know where to look.
This car is fast, reliable, and surprising to a lot of other sports cars that are more costly.
