"Do not buy a Chevy Blazer, it will put your bank account in the hole"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The 1st year that I had my truck, was great, I had no problems other than the service engine light coming on occasionally due to (what the dealership told me) was a faulty gas cap sensor. So I let it go. Exactly a year after I bought the truck the problems starting coming.

The passenger side seat lever broke off in my husbands hand when he went to adjust it. (not fixed yet)

The windshield wipers stop and start. I almost had a terrible wreck in the middle of a downpour because of this. I've put $100 into fixing this problem and it's still a problem.

The automatic locks lock and unlock while I'm driving. (not fixed yet)

The drivers side door dropped down so that it wouldn't seal when closed. The pins in the door were so weak, on a really windy day I went to open the door and it snapped the door back out of my hand and the opposite way against the front fender. The driver side door spring popped out, 1 pin fell off the other one cracked and the hinge broke in half. ($384)

The transmission completely went, and it cost me $1500 to have it rebuilt. A year later I'm having transmission problems again. It's due to go back into the shop this Monday.

In the past month I have had to replace the water pump and ball joints. ($824)

Now the struts have gone bad and every crook I hit in the road causes the truck to sway back and forth voilently, turning the wheel as I am driving.

There is also a horrible popping sound (near the front) when I turn curves and corners. Sometimes even when I'm just driving on a straight road.

If anyone knows of any recalls that can fix some of this for me, please let me know: That_Rowe_Girl@Hotmail.com.

General comments?

So Monday, It's back the shop for transmission repair, Struts, and whatever that popping noise is. I love the truck, but I can't afford to keep it or get rid of it right now. I'm stuck.

Dear That Rowe Girl, I've experienced most of the problems you mentioned! Both seat levers broke within a week (not fixed). The wiper issue is easily solved at AutoZone (you can do it yourself, just tell them the problem). The bushing on the door pin wears out and causes the door to sag. Not a super easy fix, but you can get the parts at AutoZone. The popping noise on my Blazer was easily solved by greasing the joints. Buy a cheap grease gun from Wally World and do it yourself. It takes only minutes.
