*THE BEST DEAL IN AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY*
For $100 I bought this great automobile from a Chevy dealership and have not looked back since. The car is really fun, it still has plenty of power and all that has had to be done is to get new tires.
The 2.8 engines have to be one of the greatest engines ever assembled by GM!!!!!
I own a '91 Cutlass Ciera and it has a 145,000 miles on it and is still running good! The only things on the car that I disliked were the options... If the car had more options it would be the favourite of everyone...
I have an '89 Cutlass Calais. It has the 3.3 rather than the 2.8. I'll race ya! :)
I just sold my 89 Ciera... that was the best damn car EVER! That 2.8 V6 was hammered on by my dad, my bro and me for over 8 years and still kept giong. We finally sold it with 205,000 miles and still had a lot of life left in her... to be exact, it still beat Hondas at the street light!
I have an '89 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais 2.3 Liter 4 cylinder, that I bought in October of 2003, it had just over 100,000 miles on it and seemed to have no problems except needing an alignment and it idles too high. 2 months after I got it the fuel pump went out, then I found a hole in the radiator. it is now 6/4/2004 and the heater core has gone out. Since I have had this car it has been nothing, but problems, and they are not easy to fix because of the motors design. There is no fill valve on the radiator all fluids have to go through the overfill tank. This makes it difficult to use stop leak solutions as it pools up in the bottom of the overfill tank and does not reach the radiator. The other problem with the cars design is it has an in-tank fuel pump. (For those unfamiliar with this it simply means that the fuel pump is inside the gas tank instead of outside of it) Which means that to replace it the gas tank had to be taken out and this means more money to fix it. The car has good power, and is good as a family car. But once it starts having problems it has more and more problems. She gets a good start when racing from a stop light, and although she will get beat in the long haul. I think it is still a good car until it starts having problems. The best to all you Oldsmobile owners.
Kitten.
We have an 89 Cutlas and just lately we have been having problems with the steering column locking up. The key will eventually turn, but you have to play around with it a lot and kind of jerk the steering wheel. Has anyone else had this problem?
