Not to much has gone wrong with this car
-new brakes - 200
-new battery - 40
-new injector - 20
-rocker panels were rotted right through - 60
- I had to unplug the torque converter on the side of the transmission - never bothered to replace it - hasn't affected anything after 20 000 km
bought brakes from Canadian tire and did them myself
i got the battery for 40 dollars at the wrecking yard
my friend had an extra injector and gave it to me cheap
got the rocker panels from the local body shop.
First thing, I know its not only this car, but when a car locks the doors on its own when you put it in gear, that sucks. I took the fuse out for that. This car has 276 000 on it, original tranny and motor, it still runs perfect, no knocks. It doesn't have any power, it will go down the highway at 110 km/h and 135km/h if you push the car hard. I am 6'2 and about 200 pounds and there just isn't enough room in the car especially if you have someone riding in the back seat and you ahve to move the seat up a little for them. Other than that to this day the cars solid and gets me back and forth to work and anywhere else I go. I recently bought a 1986 honda accord ex-i with about 129 000km. I told myself I would just keep driving the cavalier until it dies. Doesn't seem to be anytime soon.
Why don't you like it when the doors lock automatically?
Because it scares me. I think the car is trying to trap me! I guess I am a baby huh?
I had a 93 Cavalier and I loved that feature... felt like no one could touch me once I was inside that thing. I guess it could be kinda scary though...?
