At 70000 miles the the transmission went bad. 3000 dollars to fix.
At 100000 miles two of the cylinders blew up and the lifters also went bad in the same incident. another 2000 dollars to fix.
Then the transmission went bad again at 75000 miles, but luckily it was still under warranty from the last one.
This hunk of crap handles like an ocean liner and is totally no fun to drive.
Horrible car to own, drive, and look at.
Never ever buy this car it is horrible.
Warning: pistons may pop out of engine at random times. For this problem I suggest armor plating just about, everywhere because the looks can drive a driver to the point of tiring to crash the minivan.
I also have a 1996 Dodge Grand caravan SE and the transmission went out at around 70,000 miles and I had it fixed and one year and one month (which was one month over my warranty) the transmission has went out again.. It now sits in the driveway.. it also has had electical problems such as when you ope the side door and the van isn't even turned on the back windshield wiper starts.. Sometimes the windshield wipers work and sometimes they don't..It is rusting out around the passenger side back door. I have taken good care of this van and it still is a piece of junk..
