A "Check Engine" light came on at 1200 miles.
Recent white smoke at start-up.
I have the USA model of the Epica which is the Suzuki Verona S. This is the same car with the exception of options between the USA and Canadian models.
Verona does not offer Traction Control so that is not an issue.
The in-line 6 cylinder engine is designed by Porsche and runs strong, and powerful with excellent acceleration.
It has a Holden transmission (which is GM in Australia) The drop in RPM is minimal and lag time is what is expected. The shifting described by others seems extreme, but it does shift differently than other cars however is performing exactly as it was designed to.
I own a 2004 and have 25,000 km. No problems at all so far, with the exception of the stalling which was a recall and fixed.
Quiet and comfortable ride, the only complaint I have is that I do like the way the transmission reacts in city driving, it seems to be confused. As for the lack of power (155 hp), it is just fine as I can pass anyone on the highway if I need to, gas mileage could be better, but I knew what it was when I purchased.
Overall I am happy with the car, I wish the dealers woould have some more epicas on them and do some advertising, no one seems to know what an epica is.
What could be the cause of the white smoke of this car
(Chevrolet Epica)?
