The Service Soon light comes on every now & then, going to have it looked at, the previous owner told me it may be the oxygen sensor, butt o be on the safe side, I'll have it looked at.
The axle is making a squeaking noise while driving & clicks rapidly sometimes in turns, getting that fixed soon as well.
When I got the car, it had 229,000 kilometers on the body & just over 80,000 on the motor.
The car drives like a dream & turns a lot of heads.
My only real gripe is the lack of power from the 4.1 V8, at times, I say to myself "I wish it had a 4.5 V8.
It is very comfortable on road trips, with lots of room for all passengers.
The 87 Deville was equipped with a 4.1 V8, whicha was Cadillac's "high tech" powertrain at the time. Unfortunately, the engine is only comparable to a 253 cid engine with 135 horsepower. The engine itself is just too small to pull this 4000+ lbs car! However, the car is a cruiser. With the weight ratio of the car behind the front wheels, this car isn't too sluggish on the highway and properly tuned can get around 27 miles per gallon at 55+ mph. Keep this car tuned, fresh oil, use a GM solvent to cleam fuel system and throttle body, always keep the filters fresh and the car should run for a long time. I posted a comment about my Deville a couple years ago. My car is still running strong at 270,000 miles.
