This car has just been a nightmare leaving us completely stranded more than one time.
I bought a Buick thinking they would be reliable transportaion how ever I have put more money into this over priced car than I have ever put into another car. I would realy like to be able to keep it untill its paid off, but I think I will have to trade it in before it costs me to much. I would never ever buy a Buick regal again.
Wow it was like reading about my own car. My 2001 Buick regal at first was a dream car with the nice leather seats and the many options it had it was my first expensive car with a monthly payment of 458. every thing on your list happened to me every single one. the first time the transmition went it left us stranded in a busy dangerous intersection and a stranger had to help me push my family to safety. it was embarrassing not to mention expensive because I was told by the dealer and several transmission repair shops that Regal has one of the most expencive transmitions to work on. The steering went causing it to be dangerous to drive especially at low speeds because it took a lot of torque to get the wheel to turn.
In reference to brake issues I have not had any on my 2001 Regal. In fact the last set of brakes went well over 60,000 miles, the best I have had on any car I have owned. The car now has 160,000 miles on it and I have replaced only brakes, tires and the right front wheel bearing once. Brakes consisted of rotors and pads only no calipers, master cylinders or anything else. This is my fourth Buick and I have never been left stranded. In fact I have never been left stranded by any GM vehicle. All in I have logged over 1.25 million miles in GM vehicles without any serious failures. I maintain my vehicles regularly and use Delco replacement parts, perhaps this is the answer.
