"I will probably keep this truck till it dies"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I replaced the transfer case motor at 180000 miles.

I had the head gaskets replaced along with a valve job at 196000 miles.

General comments?

Other than the two major repairs and a few minor (normal) repairs, this has been a great truck.

The only complaint I could make (half heartedly) is the gas mileage. I average about 18 mpg. On long trips I get 20-21.

"I will probably keep this truck until it dies" I said the same thing about my wife. I regret that decision also.

You may keep your Ranger a LONNNGGGG time if you keep it til it dies. Not long ago I stopped to help a young man who had the hood up on his '85 Ranger in a convenience store parking lot. He said the battery had died.

I jumped the truck off for him and while we were talking he made the comment "I guess I really need to get a new truck soon. This one has 345,000 miles on it!" I've owned 4 Rangers myself, and I've never been able to keep one long enough to have even one minor problem. The longest I ever kept one of mine was 8 years.
