The exhaust sprung a leak at 115,000. I replaced section for $40.
Wheel bearings went out in both front wheels which cost $200.
The seats are not comfortable.
The stereo is horrible. I can now only listen to AM as the unit refuses to switch to FM.
It rides well, but the suspension is very squishy - it has a lot of body roll.
This is the doggiest car I have EVER driven. I can hardly believe that even this little 2.0L doesn't have more get up. This is probably my biggest gripe about the car. If you are going to be driving in a big city, the 4Cyl will make driving tougher. The Dodge Omni I owned had more spunk than this car. It revs to the ski, but goes nowhere.
This car gets good gas mileage at roughly 30 MPG.
It has been cheap to maintain - but is VERY, VERY underpowered.
This car will get you from point A to point B. I would never buy a car with a 2.0L from Chevy again.
Sounds like your transmission is slipping (will rev, but take off slowly) I would bet that is the reason for slow take off.
I have talked to a friend of mine who's parents own this car and they have had the same underpowered feel to it. They bought it with 20,000 miles on it and have said that it has always felt doggy.
The Corsica is not a light car, and the 4 cylinder engine Chevy used in those cars was regarded as weak.
I just bought a 89 Corsica v6 2.8 from a friend for $200 with 167910 miles with the only problem is my water pump leaks. It gets up and goes for a little car at 85 mph in less than 1/4 mile and even though it shows that as the highest speed it still it gaining speed I'd have to say one of the best cheap cars I've bought before, but you know as well as I do don't play in a car too much I just slid 500 yards and into a 10ft ditch, but the damage was only a busted oil pan and now a dented roof from my friend using the it to climb out of the ditch, but yea that's my opinion.
