Auto transmission require replacement after 5,000 k's due to flaring between gears.
The previous model I owned had the same problem. that's why I traded it.

Returned to Kia service department five times before the fault was acknowledged. Off road for two weeks with replacement transmission. After two weeks the problem returned. Kia's answer? Drop it in for more tests.
We have a 2004 LS Carnival and will not buy one again.
The transmission acts like a public servant - works sometimes and changes when it feels like it.
Rebooting the computer makes for some performance improvement which returns to its old ways after a day or two.
Kia does not want to know about the issue and is just waiting for the warranty to run out which will most probably be the time the transmission will fall out of the vehicle.
