The engine went into "safe mode" thereby reducing the power considerably during the first 2 months of ownership. According to the dealer, this was due to faulty programming of the ECU. After replacement the problem never occurred.
The passenger seatbelt clip was faulty from the day I got the car and broke once again after being replaced free of charger by the dealer, who replaced it at a charge because according to them, broke due to normal wear and tear??
Rather expensive but the drivng experience really helps to justify the price.
Well built and incredible performance from a 2000cc power-plant.
Bags of turbo-lag below 3000r/min, but sintelating acceleration from there up-wards.
Better buy then the FQ-400, the nearly 10,000 pound price difference doesn't justify the extra 60HP.
Rather bland interior, but this is a performance sedan, so I guess Mitsubishi spent more time on the chassis and engine than on the interior. Very comfortable racing seats though!
7500 mile service intervals are really pesky and come up rather often.
Can you please respond to your comment regarding the servicing schedule,
In respect you state the car only needs to be serviced at 7500 miles.
I have been told, that my car needs to be serviced at 4500 miles or six months
Or whatever comes first.
My Apologies.
You are indeed correct, the car has to be serviced every 4500 miles or 6 months. The review was suppose to read "...7500 kilometer / 4500 mile service intervals.."
How do they justify service intervals at 4500 miles? And does that include the full works like spark plugs? If you drive it with respect most of the time and always warm it up and down, I can't see what needs replacing after only 4500 miles, although it never hurts just to do the oil and filter.
