"Very Underrated"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I have owned this car for just over a year, and have so far had NOTHING whatsoever go wrong with it.

In my opinion the hgt has been VERY reliable.

General comments?

Having previously owned a saxo vts, I was expecting a slight drop in performance with the 1.8 HGT. "BOY WAS I WRONG!"

Compared with the Vts the HGT has plenty more torque (loads more pulling power at lower revs), and once taken above 5 thousand revs things get really wild! Pulls so strong and fast all the way to 100mph and beyond.

I have added a pipercross viper and a modified cold air feed to the hgt which has made quite a difference, especially in the higher rev range. I recommend trying a closed induction setup like the VIPER or a BMC CDA. I have had the car dynoed twice once as standard then with the viper.

Standard = 137.21bhp at the fly

Viper+modded airfeed = 149.68bhp

I also have a timed quater mile of 15.6sec.

Long rides can be tough going due to the stiff setup, You can feel all potholes bumps etc in the road.

Handling wise I did find the Saxo VTS to be better, although I can't complain as the hgt feels far better built and has plenty of toys that come as standard.

Insurance can be expensive being in group 14/15 also the fuel bills.

But whocares I really enjoy driving the car, puts a smile on my face EVERY morning.

I've had my HGT from 0-100mph in 18.3 sec and also ran a 15.01 quarter with just a filter (enclosed carbon) and a cat back exhaust.

Why did they make this car. its exactly the same spec as the 1400 but 0.1sec slower in 0-60.

The GT and HGT are new and old, that's all! Same as Fiesta RS and the new ST.
