1989 Dodge Shadow CSX from North America - Comments

"Extremely fun car you can't help, but love despite the obvious 80's build quality problems"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Tons of odd small things, from the pull ring on the stick shift to internal parts on the roll up windows. The steering rack, catlaytic converter, oxygen sensor and regular maint. items. The A/C compressor numerous times (is not working now and have to just decided to do without).

General comments?

Despite all the repairs the car has proven to be extremely reliable, never stranding me any where.

Drove it from Texas to NJ with no problems recently.

This is a true Shelby product and has great perfomance. It is not as fast as todays pocket rockets, but will suprise a lot of them at a stop light.

Looks like just normal wear and tear for 158,000 miles. I don't know of ANY CAR with the performance capabilities of an 89 CSX that could rack up mileage like that (CSX's power and handling are unreal) and still have the original engine, and still be a viable car. Maybe you should re-think that build quality comment?
