Noise from the driver and rear passenger seat.
Engine and wind noise is rather loud at 100km/hour and above.
Fuel consumption is slightly lower than my previous Proton Wira 1.5i.
Very comfortable for city driving.
Good pick-up and very quiet at slow speeds.
Absolutely right about the wind and tyre noise very apparent,
suspension also no good, honda better.
I do agree the suspension could have been better. Rides could be bouncy at times even in seemingly smooth expressways. But then again, it ain't no Lexus.
Suspension, noise from wind + passenger sides, and another bad bad things from Altis is the air-cond smelt. Apparently, Toyota themself can't able to fix it.
Overall superb car, smooth, comfy, and powerful.
I feel no regret of buying toyota altis, it is a good quality car with a powerful engine VVTI. i have one 1.7 honda civic too, if compare with toyota altis, I will say toyata altis is much more better. People said toyota altis handling not good, come on man! Honda civic handling is even worst!because I drive both toyota altis and honda civic, therefore I know which car is better!
The sales figure speaks by itself. Talk to any of the Toyota dealers, they will tell you the Toyota sales statistical figure - all time high as compare to Nissan, Honda. If you have time, visit www.toyota.com.my to take a good comparison for the features offered, you will speaks louder than anyone else, Altis is great value for money. So much of features that comes along in the bundle deal. I had done 3 months of survey before I come to a conclusion why I am buying an ALTIS instead of its competitors.
Its is the same size as the oder generation XLI. The set back is that the suspension is not as good and also there is a bit of problem on the undercarriage. knocking sound coming from the undercarriage.
Hi.
I'm driving Toyata Altis 1.8G, I just bought on 2006 June, it is a good car, spacious, good acceleration, great outlook. The maintenance is quite low. Although it is RM120 000, but it is really value for money. Now I'm plan to change to Honda Civic 8th Generation, the outlook is superb, but don't know how is the driving feel.
What are you talking? U said you like Altis, but now buying Honda Civic? What a nonsense!! U said you bought your Altis in Jun 2006, now we are in April 06. What are you talking? Pls read your comments and grammers before you publish out.
Does anyone has any spy photo with regards to the new Toyota Corolla? Anyone knows when will it be released in Malaysia and what is the price like?
I am not an owner nor a driver for Toyota Altis, but knowing it is a good car comparable to Honda Civic. Anyway, just curious about the stability of the car especially during acute turning at high speed, would the driver feel the car very unstable or seems to be "overturned" since the car is rather high as compared to Civic?
I am the Altis owner. You are right. Cornering is poor, the road holding is not as good due to the height. This car is good in highway driving and uphill riding. The brake is good too. The pick up is good due to its 136hp engine. The other complain is, the sound proof is extremely poor. When motorcycle passed by, we can hear the noise very loudly.
Hello car owners, due to the recent hike of petrol price, I have little tips here would like to share with you.
I owned an Altis 1.8L and my friend owns an Innova. We had tried to pump petrol early morning, we can get an extra mileage of 10 to 15%. I have tested it over 1 month, it is true. I have no knowledge to explain the technical behind, the only reason that I can say is, gas vaporization is faster at the petrol kiosk during afernoon period due to the heat.
Just imagine, petrol price has gone up 20%, with this little tips, it can nearly help to offset the increase in price. Hope this help to everyone here.
SY.....KL....
I am owner of Toyota Altis, as for handling of car while cornering, it could be done by reducing the tyre pressure to 29PSI, but more important is to get your Toyota car dealer to stiffen the suspension & lubricate the stabilizer bar. I tried that & the handling & cornering is much much better than before.
Just bought a Toyota Altis 1.6, 3 weeks ago..
The alarm just went berserk!! And surely they blamed the supplier!
I bought a Vios three years ago, the disk brake was not functioning well, it was really putting our safety in jeopardy and Toyota blamed the supplier! Not sure what's happening to Toyota, the so called best car maker in the world. No more Toyota next time...
I recommend you buy a BMW or Merz...
