2005 Suzuki Ignis Sport from Singapore - Comments

"Probably the best sports hatchback for this price"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Gear box still pretty raw, sometimes the first and the last gear couldn't engage till you clutch in and clutch out again for a couple of times.

General comments?

Very lightweight, therefore very fun to throw into corners.

The seats are kind of high.

The steering wheel is a tad too big.

Fold down rear seats are very useful.

Despite it's small size, the turning radius is actually not that small.

Very fun to drive, I really enjoy overtaking people in the corners.

Engine is torquey even at low revs. I can easily overtake on the expressways on fifth gear.

Short wheel base plus stiff dampers makes it pretty uncomfortable over humps. But this combination is what gives confidence driving fast round bends.

For Singaporeans, this is really the best car to buy if you want a sporty drive under 65K. And it's insurance group is under wagons!

There is a website suzukisport. com that makes carbon fibre bonnets and all sorts of tuning parts from limited slip diffs to 107db exhaust systems they are based in japan I am looking into how much it will cost to import these parts into england because nobody does any parts like that in england yet, but its well worth having a look.
