The engine block has a hole in it so the whole engine must be changed, and all this only after 49000 km!
Seat belts do not roll back.
Dashboard gluing is coming apart.
Automatic gearbox is not working properly.
The engine is not strong enough when the air-conditioning is on.
Handles well in the city.
Easy to park.
"Engine rusted through after 49000km, bitter disappointment"
Well, since Israel is conveniently located on the Mediterranean Sea, you have a nice large body of water
close at hand into which to drop that loser.
Why do you think they called it a "Charade"?
I had a 1986 Daihatsu Charade (it was 18 years old!!) two years ago, it was 1.0 Automatic.
Other than being a bit slow (because of the small engine) I did not notice any unusual malfunctions with it.
It would brake down 2-3 times a year, but what do you expect from a 18 year old car?!
(I know of newly bought cars that brake down 2-3 times a year - mainly American cars though)
