Lots of front end work was needed.
Brakes, rotors, ball joints, calipers need to be replaced often.
Wheel bearings and tire rods needed to be replaced.
Some acceleration issues. Doors freeze easily in winter.
Car was recalled by GM in 2004 for an ignition problem.
In all, it has been an attractive, decent, sporty little car.
I live in the Boston area, and it is not really good to drive in the winter time.
I bought it used a few years back, and the vehicle history showed no accidents or major repairs.
The mechanics who fixed the front end cited it as "wear and tear"
The car itself is comfortable, and rides well most of the time.
There used to be a high pitched noise when I would start it up, but the sound would eventually fade.
Pretty decent on gas.
Watch out for this one, some of these cars may be better than others.
I honestly don't beat up this car at all, as it stays local in the city, and I was surprised at all the work it needed.
In all, about $3000 in repair costs.
Maybe the reason the car needs so much work is because you drive it in the city (stop and go stop and go) there's nothing harder on a car than that besides just plain beating on it.
