'Sticky' accelerator; jammed petrol cap.

Great fun to drive. Not many GTi's about in the UK. Anyone else got one? Also very reliable. 72,000 miles, no probs.

I enjoyed your review of the Lancer GTi 16v. I also have an '89 model, but mine is a 1600cc. Do you know how many are still running in the UK at present?

Yep, I've got one 1.6 GTi 16v Saloon and I love it. The best thing is that I have had it for two and a half years and I have never seen another one.

I know what you mean about not seeing another GTi, about that's why I asked if you knew how many were still on the road. Where would I find out exactly how many are still running?

Anyone done anything to their car? I have and it has cost me a arm and a leg, cause all the bits had to be made for it.

I am from Asia and it's nice to know that people from across the globe are enjoying this car.

I have a 92 Lancer GTi as my 1st car and kept it till now. Never had a problem though some revisions from the stock model are done to live up to the Lancer image.

I am from Spain and I love my 1.8 GTi, Mitsubishi are a great automaker.

My Lancer has only 55.000 Km and at the moment it goes perfectly. I love its sound, really as a sportcar and if you like driving at night its lights are fabulous. My Mitsubishi is better than those European GTIs.

I live in Finland and I own 1991 model 16V 1.8 GTI Lancer. This car is really great. 275 000 kilometers are on the meter, but the engine is still like new. Only the valve lifters have changed, because those were worn and kept making some noise. The car's performance is really enjoyable.

I'm quite sure that also my next car will be a Mitsubishi.

I possess a 91 Lancer GSR and it is a very tidy car. It sits on 16inch Momo wheels has a huge 141dB stereo and contains a few modifications within the cabin. Further plans including placing a VR4 Engine into the bay.

I just got a 91 Lancer and I wanna put some flashy wheels on it, maybe 16's, anyone got any pictures you can mail me of a 91 Lancer with hot wheels?

Yeah, I have got 16" alloys on mine and it's been dropped by 1". It looks good, I will set up a web page and post them up there so you can see, I will mail you the address.

I'm from Austria and my Lancer GTI 16v is also doing fine. There are just 45000 kilometers on it and the year of construction is 93! He (*g* the car) is dark grey! Before this one I had a '92 "normal" Lancer!

I thought Lancer GTi's were only in our country.. but anyway I'd like to keep the car for a long time even if its mileage is 100,000+.. it still works great, my friends says it runs smoothly and the engine is quiet... Anyone, send me pics so I have an idea how to customize it...

Hi All.

I'm from Spain and I have a Lancer GTI 16v with 97000 km. I am very happy with this car, although I had some problems with the CPU (Central electronic injection Unit) first. It was failing badly, and needed to get fixed. I fixed it.

Then I had problems with the starter. It didn't keep the revs constantly, they were between 800 RPM and 1500 RPM, all the time. What I am wondering is if these have happened to any of you? And from where can I buy spare parts cheap?
