"This is a very poorly built truck"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The problems started almost immediately after it was purchased. Nothing major happened until it was out of warranty though.

It started with the axle breaking at approx 35000 miles, the transmission went out around 60000, the alignment and replacing the tires has been a constant problem - it won't stay aligned. The you joint has broken and the drive shaft has had to be replaced recently. It over heats and smells like anti-freeze, but everything has been replaced. The electrical system is also a problem - none of the gages or interior lights work correctly and have not for a very long time now.

The third door has not opened since it was right out of warranty. The dealer was no help at all - didn't even respond to our calls. I also wrote to Chevy several times over the years and there response was simply that it was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do.

I definitely would not purchase another Chevy ever.

It is a very poorly designed truck and the problem list goes on and on - I feel like we have paid for this truck 4 or 5 times now!

General comments?

We have been very unhappy with this truck, but have been so busy trying to keep it running we have kept it and now are considering trading it in even though every time we have a major repair we think nothing else can go wrong with it.

A 2005 Chevrolet S-10?? There is no such model. Is there? The S-10/Sonoma was discontinued in 2003 and replaced by the better and more modern Colorado/Canyon.

The S-10 was discontinued in 2004. I own one, and it has been good to me. I believe they were manufactured in 03 then sold as 04's. They must be talking about the Colorado.

You're right. 2003 is the last year they made S tens and sonomas also. I was never tired of riding in the s-ten.
