Immaculate record keeping. When you purchase a new car it is sort of like a marriage, for better or worse. If your wife takes sick... you have to stick with her. A new car will be too expensive to get rid of, so that is a similiar trait. I know it sounds illogical, but please do not supress my thoughts. Volvo's mission is changing.
That's funny, my S70 is now on 125,000 and nothing is wrong with it! Except a steering wheel groan when turned. It is the BEST car that I have ever owned. I also know a taxi company that is about to retire it's S70 for a S80 and it is currently on 330,000 miles needing only a steering rack and AC Compressor!!! These are great cars. Buy one!

Are you saying Volvo offers a prenup?
A T.O.C. of $9,9xx in six years for a decent AWD sedan, I will take that ANY day; that is a steal. Even a Toyota Camry is projected to be around $8300 for six years (http://www.edmunds.com/used/2003/toyota/camry/100164734/cto.html?setzip=80120&vdp=off) and that is a non-turbo’d non-AWD sedan without the safety of a Volvo.
There should be no complaints for such a low expense on such a car. If you do not like maintaining a car, do not buy one.
Mine, unfortunately, has been quite the same, save for the radio troubles. I love how the car handles, how safe and comfortable it is, but I do agree... most of what you reported, I've done, too...
