1989 Chevrolet Corsica 4 door sedan from North America - Comments

"One of the biggest pieces of crap I've ever seen!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

*Leaking head gasket.

*Ignition went, was unable to turn off the car. Had to disconnect the battery just to shut it off.

*Entire exhaust/muffler system fell off.

*Alternator went.

*Shocks.

*Brakes.

*Battery.

*Driver door-lock barely works.

*Fuel blockages.

General comments?

I've owned this car for little over 8 months and every month it seems my car is "out of service" for at least a week.

I do not drive it hard, nor did the previous owner. He was an older man who was unable to drive anymore. And I've had nothing, but problems with it.

Lucky enough I only paid 500$ Can for it. I wouldn't have paid more! I've put more into repairs than anything into this car.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to get a Corsica, unless you pay 100$ for it. Truly a hunk of junk, more headache than enjoyment.

You paid $500 for a 16 year old car with 225000 kilometers on it and are *****ing that things are wrong with it? Grow up! What did you expect? a Ferrari trapped in a sedan body with the wrong badging put on it? It's people like you that give car companies bad names! Next time try buying a car that's not older then you and ready to be put out to pasture, then maybe you won't cry like a baby!

I completely agree with the other comments above. I had a 1991 Chevy Corsica, 4 cyl automatic. It ran fantastic, and only let me down once, even then, it was 11 years old with over 150,000 miles on it. Not a bad track record. It did several passes between Eastern MA to Western NY, to Virginia, PA, you name it. I bought it with 70k miles in July 1999 for my first car, and I donated it to charity with 235k in Sept. 2004. Sadly, the underneath of the car rusted out after several New England winters. I miss that car a lot...

It's a cheap rental car. what did you expect.

Actually my dads Corsica was junk too, but it still kept going. until it hit a semi truck.

Look at the mileage it had... I agree with the others. Also, learn to shop better next time...

I own an 89 corsica and must say that in 4 years I've owned it, the only thing that ever went besides the normal wear items, (spark plugs, brakes, ROCKER PANELS, etc.) was the fuel pump, alternator and starter. The car has 327,000 ki on it and will still reach high speeds and lay rubber! The 2.8 engine in it is flawless!

You need to look after your car man. Mechanics don't live longer than flesh because flesh repairs itself.

Cars need the owner to know and hear whats wrong with it. I got my 89 2.8 6 cyl 4 door for $700 canadian. I love it.

Broke down twice after the repairs. Tuns even better than when I first bought it.

It's almost at 300,000km.
